Here in the Valley of the Garfagnana, there is a timeless feel that still remains in the valley that has long since gone in other areas of Italy. It is this that gives way to traditions and a culture that is still very strong in the valley, lending itself very well to photography and art weeks.

One is still able to capture the essence of Italy, the images of the locals working in harmony with the land, the moving of cattle to summer pastures, traditional harvesting of crops, like farro. To the tradtional Vendemia / grape harvest.

With this we offer you our Base at Braccicorti as your location for your stay. Look at the Braccicorti site for more information. We are amongst the vines and the tradtional chesnut forest of the Garfagnana, with medieval villages and lakes a short distance from the lodge.

Braccicorti, owned and run by the Giovannetti family and Bruno Giovannetti a well known Alpinist of the region and professional photographer. Aided by other artists and friends in the valley, offer one the chance to see Garfagnana with them.

Day tours by private bus, also walking to main points of interest in the valley. Such as villages and Towns, like Barga and Castiglione with their medieval past. Along with Mountain walks to old hermitages and to see local artisans. Itineraries at request, from 3 days to 2 week tours. One week in Garfagnana, along with another tour of 1 week nr Siena, Southern Tuscany. The Itineraires include days in the tour, such as the second week spent near Siena, visiting San Gimignana, Volterra and Monteriggioni plus others towns, along with walks on the Montagnola Senese and in Chianti. These tours are undertaken with local professionals giving their ideas and help on compostition of shots & all the in's and out of photography.

Art Tours in Garfagnana & Tuscany for Groups & Individuals

Day tours to special sights of interest and natural beauty to allow one to paint and draw during a day. Guests are transported to local towns and shown best vantage points, information on techniques of watercolour and oils. Can have half day stops and be taken to new location to get greater variety.

Days include that of Barga, Castiglione, Campocatino, Vagli Sotto and Isola Santa all outstanding areas in the Garfagnana, plus options of Lucca and Coast of the meditteranean and Cinque Terre. Itineraries at full board basis, breakfast, packed lunch/picnic and 3 course dinner, and one free day with breakfast only, (dinner out)

Tours for Art trips, can be from 3 days to 2 weeks, with tours in Garfagnana and Southern Tuscany, based nr Siena, visiting places such as San Gimignana, San Galgano, Volterra and Monteriggioni, along with Siena. With areas such as Chianti and la Crete.
