TOUR 3: The Middle Valley—Barga—Gallicano & Castelnuovo

From Braccicorti, we ride via Pontecosi and the lake to Castelnouvo, thorugh the old town and the Rocca of Ariostesca, we then climb out of the town towards Monteperpoli and then descend via Cascio to Gallicano. Here we ride up the valley of the turrite di Gallicano for a short distance to the Hermitage of Calomini and the Town of Fornolovasco. Here for lunch by the river. We then climb up towards the Grotta del Vento and return on the panoramic high level road to Gallicano, with amazing views towards Monte Forato, and Barga and the Appennines. From Gallicano we cross the river and climb to Barga, and wind our way up to the top of the hill and the marble cathedral of Saint Christopher. After a look around the town, we return to the road and cycle via Castelvecchio and to return to the road to Castelnouvo and back to Braccicorti
